Tools and skills

Illustrator, AutoCAD, Arduino, user research, sketching, coding, prototyping, and user testing.

Participants

Valentina Mora, Paola Ramirez, Camila Varón and Valentina Zapata.

What?

Rollipostres is a playful, interactive installation that encourages sensory learning through vibrations, sound, and movement. It engages users in teamwork while fostering a sense of connection to the historical traditions of Bogotá’s typical desserts, teaching preparation methods, and exploring the raw materials involved.

Who?

Designed for kids between 7-12 years old

Where?

Amusement parks, museums, schools, and any institutions in Colombia interested in teaching kids through games or experiences.

Why?

Many families in Bogotá have currently abandoned the tradition of passing down the legacy of typical desserts. This decline has led to a diminished sense of belonging and a disconnection from our cultural heritage and local traditions.

Goal Statement

Bogotá’s dessert traditions are at risk of being forgotten due to a modern lifestyle in which children are more interested in interacting with digital devices and show a lack of interest in learning traditional recipes. Because of this, there is a need for a sensory-rich experience that captures their interest, promotes teamwork, and ensures that these cultural practices are appreciated and preserved across generations.
