Problem

statement

Colombian artisans are craftworkers who preserve cultural and ancestral traditions that bring life to our cultural identity and historical memory. They need to foster the consumption of sustainable products and minimize waste in the material extraction process. This approach helps preserve their traditional practices, promotes the consumption of sustainable products, and increases their income.

Goal

Statement

The products in the Bio-maguey project allow users to decrease losses in the waste from natural fiber extraction (fique) by using these wastes in innovative designs. These designs foster the sale of trendy, functional products, while preserving traditional and historical significance through remaining artisanal processes, and targeting current market needs.

Solution

Designing a set of four products: a shopping bag, coffee packaging, artisan cloth soap, and a decorative lamp.
